Scream Awards: Hair

So Tonight the Scream Awards aired and I can definitely say that Chloe Moretz had the best hair of the night. Runner up to Ms. Moretz would have to be Amber Heard, both ladies rocked side swept old Hollywood cascading waves. The deciding factor was the hair color... Chloe's golden waves offered dimension and shine, while Amber's bleach blonde seemed one note and dated to me. Third runner up would have to be Mary Elizabeth Winstead with her fringe and curled ends.

Not just a Hair Winner but the ComicCon Icon - 94 year old June Foray was absolutely adorable.

Next up 3 looks that I'm on the fence about I can't tell if I Love or Loathe Kate Beckinsale, Zoe Saldana or Anne Hathaway's Hair. What do you think? I consider Kate a hair icon but I'm not sure how I feel about her too long, full but straight half up half down look.
And Anne's hair just seems plain and boring.

And Now for the Hair that makes me want to SCREAM.....
Erika Christensen's hair was just God awful and so frizzy.

Special Thanks to Mr. Darvell for coordinating the hair and makeup team for this event!

Healthy Food is in Fashion- Show/ Fall Gala

Last week a few students were chosen from Carsten Aveda to work at a Fashion Show to support Healthy Lifestyles. The Fashion Show was held in the library at the New York Academy of Medicine and also included food samples from 20 organic restaurants & caterers & a silent auction.

Flynn: Fingerwaves by Me  Makeup by Silvio

This was my first time styling for a  fashion show & I'm not gonna lie, it was super fun and really exciting. I love my friends from school, My teacher once told me that she loved how our little group always seemed to have each others back and help each other out. This industry is so competitive and so I appreciate the fact that while I'm in school, I can consider my fellow classmates friends first and peers second. The only person I'm in competition with is myself. I've learned so much from my friends and we work in collaborations rather than as competitors.

Talent and plenty of it...

Night of the Living Red: Carrie White

Carrie is more of a Strawberry Blonde then a full blown redhead
but I just had to write a post about her...
1.) because its October and Halloween is just around the corner
2. because I Love the Movie Carrie

Sissy Spacek as Carrie

Carrie White is portrayed by Sissy Spacek in the film adaptation of the Stephen King novel Carrie. I remember this being one of the first Horror films I ever watched. I loved it and I still do.

Tigi Academy Class

A few weeks ago my friends and I attended a Hair Cut-Color Class at the Tigi Academy in Soho. It was seriously awesome sauce. I loved the fact that they had 3 instructors alternating throughout the lesson and it was so streamlined and they were all so engaging to watch. I learned so much more information in such a short amount of time.  Below are a few shots I took during the class. Going to the Tigi Academy definitely changed my opinion of Toni and Guy and Tigi, I had always thought that they were super cheesy and trying really hard to be edgy and cool. ( I still think they try too hard to be cool) But as a Stylist I can see that the products they make and the company they run is based around progressive thinking & the fact that they are stylists and want the best products; Made by Stylist, For Stylist.
I purchased 3 products after the class...the Catwalk dry shampoo, Bed Head Sugar Shock (similar to a sea salt spray, it gives your hair beach-y texture and smells like cotton candy, Yum!) and the little paddle brush I've nicknamed Birdie. I love the Dry Shampoo and use it almost everyother day (see: 3 things my hair needs) Sugar Shock is fun but I use it only once in a while and Birdie is the love of my life!

I wish I got a Before picture, this dude had very long hair
