Ann-Margaret can best be defined as the "female Elvis" She was a hip-swiveling, heartbreaking, sultry song bird. The perfect blend of Girl next door and Sex Kitten. I'd put her up there with Icons like Audrey, Elizabeth and Marilyn.  Ann-Margret had a chance encounter with Ms. Monroe, who was on location for a film. Monroe noticed the striking girl in a crowd of onlookers, then chatted privately with her, offering her encouragement. She's a triple threat, singing dancing and acting. Ann- Margaret is a natural brunette and her red hair color  was the idea of Sydney Guilaroff, who changed the hair color of other famous actresses such as Lucille Ball.

School Daze: So Long Intro, Hello Alpha

Last week ended our stint in Intro and now we've moved on to the Chemical phase. In Alpha we will be covering Chemistry Theory & our practical portion will involve:  Coloring/ Highlights- Perms (not your Granny's perm think Gisele-like Body waves)-Relaxers.

We cover the science behind the chemicals and products that make styling and coloring hair possible.I'm interested in how I will adapt to coloring since coming into this I felt that it would be my weak link. Who knows? I may end up loving color the most. We will just have to wait and see...

Also wanted to send a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to my beautiful friends who came to  Carsten Aveda to be my models during Intro.









The story behind Here There and Everywhere

This couple had GREAT hair

Here There and Everywhere was written by Paul McCartney in 1966 and was based on his romance with then girlfriend Jane Asher. Both John and Paul had said that it was their favourite Beatles' song. Paul had been influenced by Beach Boys' Pet Sounds, especially the quality of  'God only knows' and wanted to write a song that had captured a similar mood.

The song is one of my personal favorites and the namesake of this very blog. References: A hard days write- by Steve Turner, if you are a Beatles fan I highly recommend you own this book. It is an invaluable piece of literature because it is the story behind every Beatles' song.
