Night of the Living Red: Ann Margaret

Ann-Margaret can best be defined as the "female Elvis" She was a hip-swiveling, heartbreaking, sultry song bird. The perfect blend of Girl next door and Sex Kitten. I'd put her up there with Icons like Audrey, Elizabeth and Marilyn.  Ann-Margret had a chance encounter with Ms. Monroe, who was on location for a film. Monroe noticed the striking girl in a crowd of onlookers, then chatted privately with her, offering her encouragement. She's a triple threat, singing dancing and acting. Ann- Margaret is a natural brunette and her red hair color  was the idea of Sydney Guilaroff, who changed the hair color of other famous actresses such as Lucille Ball.

Bye Bye Birdie

2010: at 69 she won her first Emmy for SVU
Ann proves you can be sexy and beautiful at any age, she's a true icon

Night of the Living Red: Mystique

Mystique is a Female Villain from the Marvel Comic X-men. She has superpowers, most notable is her ability to shapeshift and when she is not posing as someone else she has blue skin yellow eyes and mahogany red hair. In the film versions she is portrayed by Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence. I'm very excited to see X-men First Class,  Mystique is one of my favorite comic book characters.

Night of the Living Red: Jean Grey

 via JeanGrey.com

In anticipation of the new film X-Men: First Class-The First Fictional character to be featured in Night of the Living Red: Jean Grey who appeared as one of the original members in X-men #1 in 1963. Also known as Marvel Girl, Phoenix and Dark Phoenix. Jean Grey possesses telepathic powers allowing her to read minds, project her thoughts and mentally stun opponents. She also has the power of telekinesis, allowing her to levitate and manipulate objects, generate force fields & posses the ability to fly. Although she is not a natural red head actress Famke Janssen portrays Jean Grey/Phoenix in the feature film series X-men. My favorite X-men movie is the 2nd film but Jean Grey/Phoenix/Famke is by far looking her best in the 3rd installment X-men: The Last Stand. She may be the first comic book lady on my blog but I assure you she shall not be the last. Please enjoy some pictures of the fiery red headed lady mutant also know as Jean Grey/ Phoenix

Night of the Living Red: Jenny Lewis

(via Google image)

Jenny Lewis lead vocalist of Rilo Kiley...A little fact about Jenny: she started out as a kid actor and one of her first gigs was to portray Lucille Ball's Grand kid. I love Jenny Lewis' music, style and especially her hair. Shes not only a kick ass red head but she rocks  bangs like its nobody's business. She has the best bangs! If you've never heard of Jenny or Rilo Kiley I highly recommend you look into them ASAP. I credit my friend J-Fresh for introducing Rilo Kiley to me years and years ago.

All aboard the Copper Express!

Drew Barrymore via Stylist.com
Drew debuts long waves with a  Fiery Copper Tone which warms up creamy complexion. And She proves yet again that she is a fashion and beauty chameleon. She happens to be one of my favorite actresses and I had the chance to meet her at a Strokes concert years ago she was so sweet and friendly. Stay tuned for a Hair Idol post on Drew.

Mandy Moore via Stylist.com

The Singer/Actress is now a member of the Ginger club too. She showed up at an event in NYC with straight fire colored hair. I'm not really a fan of Mandy especially her acting (yikes! reference- "because I said so" ) but the Red is very flattering on her.

Blake Lively via Stylist.com

Spotted Serena Van Der Woodsen..., Oh ..Errr... Blake Lively with a New Strawberry Hue. I must say in the Hair Department it appears Blake can do no wrong. The Bright Copper color works well with her skin tone and brings out her teal green eyes. While her signature look, Long wavy locks with plenty of polish & shine,is still ever present in the over all Gorgeous Package.
xoxo.

Hair Fit for a Queen

With the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton just a few days a way I wanted to feature Prince Williams' Grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and her Hair. Queen Elizabeth's hair is famous because Her Majesty has never changed the style her entire adult life. This is so she can be well recognized on stamps, coins and in photos by her subjects. I guess her hair montra is " If it ain't broke Don't fix it!"

Night of the Living Red: Florence & ADELE

Todays Night of the Living Red is a DOUBLE FEATURE!
I listened to Florence + the Machine all last spring/summer, and I've once again added her to my daily musical rotation. I can't function in life without a playlist and Flo and her fellow Brit Bombshell, ADELE have recently dominated mine.

Florence in all her flaming RED glory...

ADELE
"There's a fire starting in my heart, Reaching a fever pitch thats bringing me out the dark.
