Night of the Living Red: Ann Margaret

Ann-Margaret can best be defined as the "female Elvis" She was a hip-swiveling, heartbreaking, sultry song bird. The perfect blend of Girl next door and Sex Kitten. I'd put her up there with Icons like Audrey, Elizabeth and Marilyn.  Ann-Margret had a chance encounter with Ms. Monroe, who was on location for a film. Monroe noticed the striking girl in a crowd of onlookers, then chatted privately with her, offering her encouragement. She's a triple threat, singing dancing and acting. Ann- Margaret is a natural brunette and her red hair color  was the idea of Sydney Guilaroff, who changed the hair color of other famous actresses such as Lucille Ball.

Bye Bye Birdie

2010: at 69 she won her first Emmy for SVU
Ann proves you can be sexy and beautiful at any age, she's a true icon

Night of the Living Red: Lucille Ball

I'm excited for this posting which is going to become a regular feature on this little blog. Night of the living Red is my way of showing my appreciation for Redheads.

Just a Few Facts:

Redheads have on average 90,000 hairs on their head, as compared to Blondes who have 140,000.

The ancient Greeks believed that redheads would turn into vampires after they died.

Red hair doesn’t gray as much as other hair colors. Red hair initially tends to turn blond and then white

"Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead." -Lucille Ball
Since this is my first post, I thought it fitting to feature America's Favorite Redhead Lucille Ball. She was born on August 6, 1911 (same birthday as my Dad). A comedian, film and television actress. She was one of the most popular stars of her time, and still is a huge influence today. She's most recognized for her role on I Love Lucy which is still in syndication. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz made the company Desilu. After Lucy and Desi divorced Desi sold his portion of Desilu to Lucy, making her the first woman to run a studio ever. She has 2 stars on the Hollywood Walk of fame. And although she is Best known as being a redhed, Lucille was born a brunette.
