Cat Meyer is the Name, Hair and Beauty is the Game
I'm a recent graduate from Carsten Aveda Institute- New York City. I decided to pursue a career in cosmetology because I've always loved styling hair and I was looking to challenge myself creatively. I enjoy all the aspects cosmetology school but I find I am most comfortable with haircutting and styling. I like the fact that I can apply my education in painting & illustration to the work I do with hair and I firmly believe that Cosmetology is an Art. I'm currently starting my career as a color assistant at Ion Studio, an eco-friendly Salon in Soho.
My style is derived from Art, Fashion, Movies, Television & Music. Inspiration to me can be found anywhere, but I really appreciate Vintage and Retro style. My favorite decades are the 60's and 70's so most of my aesthetic is inspired from that time period. I like fun modern and edgy looks but I prefer to style more feminine romantic hair. Some of my Hair Idols include but are not limited to: Audrey Hepburn, Bridget Bardot, Julie Christie, Cher, Farrah Fawcett, Debbie Harry, Gwen Stefani , Rachel Bilson & Zooey Deschanel
I created this blog because it give me the opportunity to share with you my adventures in cosmetology school, a look at my portfolio and a glimpse at who & what influences me.The blog name "Hair There and Everywhere" is named after one of my favorite Beatles songs- Here There and Everywhere. I appreciate all the encouragement from my family and friends. Your support of me and this blog is overwhelmingly wonderful.
